I'm starting a vegetable garden and adding to my flower garden this year. I'm starting them inside so if anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it. Below is a list of what I'm growing:
Watermelon (Sugar Baby)
Pumpkin (Jack O'Lantern, Big Moon, Jack-Be-Little)
Cantaloupe (Honey Rock)
Squash (Table Queen, Buttercup)
Carrot (Nantes)
Lettuce (Black Seeded Simpson, Baby Romaine)
Tomato (Beefsteak, Crimson Cushion Beefsteak, Large Red Cherry)
Pepper ( Bell pepper, California Wonder)
Peas (Sugar Snap, Oregon Sugar Pod II)
Flowers to but I've already given more info then anyone wants if you read this far I'm seriously impressed and grateful.
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers!
Should I start growing carrots indoors then transplant them outside, if so when should I start growing them?
Transplanting carrots are one of the biggest no-no's known to man. Any type of root crop should never be disturbed. Radishes are second worse. Snow peas(sugar snaps) are best sown directly where you want them to grow. Lettuces do well in cold soils as well. Spring gardens need little attention other than constant harvest and bird scarecrows. Fake snakes and shiny pans do wonders.
