I have 6 corsages to make for a baby shower, but I'm busy the night before. Do you think I could make them on Thursday night in prep for the party on Saturday afternoon??
Or should I just prepare the bows ahead of time, plan exactly what I'll make, and perpare the corsages the morning of the party?
I'd rather not have the stress of having to have them complete by 10am that day - but I'm not sure how long a corsage will keep in the fridge?
I haven't decided on what flowers to use yet - but since I will need to travel on public transport and want them to last I am thinking I will use sturdy flowers like roses - rather than flowers that bruise like lillies.
Just looking for some suggestions please!!! Thanks:)
How long can I refridgerate a corsage ?
I think if you make the corsages from fresh flowers on thursday, spritz them a little with water too, they should hold out okay until saturday afternoon just fine. Just make sure that they aren't completely dry the whole time. The best way to do that is just take an old hair spray bottle, or a spray bottle of any kind and put water in it (don't spray them with hair spray) and spray the flowers to keep them moist and looking good. Spritz 'em once or twice a day, and they should be just fine.
The other alternative is simply order them from a florist, and ask if you can pick them up the morning of the shower, or the night before if need be.
Best of luck, and I hope the shower goes well!
Reply:most fresh flowers will last a week in the fridge. you can ask at the florist shop, the have a power that is mixed with water and put in flower vases to keep them watered and fresh longer, most florists sell these premeasured packets for as little as 1/2 dollar 1 packet to a quart of water in a shallow bowl should do the trick for you.
