Favor Ideas??

My fiance and I are getting married on 7-5-08. We have kind of an oriental theme going on at our reception because of our ceremony location. My colors are Baby Blue, Silver and White. With black as an accent color.

With all that said. I'm stuck on Ideas for favors! Anyone have any Ideas?

My flowers are Orchida, and probably roses. Or what other flowers go with Orchids?

Favor Ideas??
Mini chinese take out boxes and have a candy buffet.

Good luck
Reply:Boxed sets of chopsticks.

Wonton soup spoons - those enameled-look wide bowl ones.

Otherwise, I like the ideas of wine bottle stoppers, and cookie cutters I've seen on Answers.
Reply:you can do little bags with bubbles and mints. if you go to www.oreiantaltrading.com they have tones of party items and wedding items and they're really good priced. that's where i went for my wedding items.
Reply:Well, I don't know how this can tie in, but I plan to make homemade chocolate from molds. Since my boyfriend and are were born in different states, I plan to get state molds with chocolate and maybe ones for initials. You can get the chinese take-out boxes to hold them. Our initials will spell TAB, but that soft drink doesn't really make cool stuff. :-) Look at this website:

There are molds for Chinese symbols.

Reply:Favors really aren't even necessary so don't feel obligated to have them. Having said that, I too wanted favors at my wedding, as do many. The best advice I can offer is make it edible! I know someone else said that and it's 100% true. If you don't want to waste your money, make it something something edible. Almost anything else will either be left at the table, collect dust on someone's shelf at home, and/or eventually end up in the garbage, at a garage sale, or at a local thrift shop. Whatever edible you like and fits with your theme would be fine. Chocolates, candy, fortune cookies, jars of homemade jam, whatever. Best of Luck and have fun planning!
Reply:don't waste your money on favors that will probably go to waste. spend it on your honeymoon instead.

Reply:Keep them edible! Nobody want's cheap useless junk to clutter their homes with.

A great idea could ge dipped fortune cookies. You can tint the icing any color under the sun and use white and silver non-parellis (round sprinkles). Easy to DIY if you are on a budget or you can order them from a ton of places.

White chocolate chopsticks with baby blue ends. Tie with silver ribbon?

I forget what they are called but those oragami fortune things are a traditional favor (cranes). Pair with some candy, maybe a white chocolate truffle and have baby blue paper with silver pen?

For centerpieces I would do lucky bamboo shoots and orchids. Instead of a large vase use several smaller bud vases grouped together so guests can take home a shoot if they want. Or, have the bud vases available on a side table. However, you really don't want this to be your ONLY favor since it's not really good ettiqute to give a favor that requires daily care and purchasing extra supplies (pots, etc)
Reply:Fortune cookies
Reply:Cherry blossoms, but they're pink and seasonal. Check with your florist unless you're using silk then of course you can get them anytime. Honestly orchids look nice alone. They're very stately and elegant. The only thing you really put with them are tropical greens, maybe bamoo, wild grass, palm, etc.

As for favors, learn origami and give everyone a paper crane for good fortune. You could give everyone a nice box and put the crane in it or on top of it. Depending on your budget you could have the crane etched on the box. You could also give everyone a bamboo plant or a small bonzai with directions of course.

best wishes.
Reply:Since you have an oriental theme give out a set of chop sticks wrapped in a box or fortune cookies. I had orchids and roses in my wedding with white hydrangeas. Since you have blue in your wedding that might work for you Check out a few florists and ask for there suggestions.
