i have 2 baby nieces that are going to be my flower girls. one of them will barely be walking by the time i get married. what i have decided to do (and im asking everyones opinion on this) is dress them both in frilly white dresses and the ring beared in a white tux. i have a small wagon with tall sides and i have decorated it with a bassonet cover to and frill and make it white and "wedding-y" and i have placed rose pedals of all my wedding colors in the bottom of the wagon. i want to have the girls sit in the wagon on the pedals and have the ring bearer pull them down the aisle as they toss the pedals they are in. any opinions? should i or shouldnt i do that? i want them both in it! and i thought that would be cute and different. but i dont know! help!!
I am having flower girl problems!?
Go ahead and do it! It sounds like a cute idea. Just be prepared because when children are involved in a wedding anything can happen. Have the parents or someone they are close to waiting for them at the end of the aisle so that if they get upset they will be waiting for them. Make sure that you do run throughs with the wagon during rehearsal and it does not hurt to have them practice at home either. I practiced with my daughter who was a little over two years old when she was a flower girl and it worked well.
You also need to prepare yourself so that if they cry or get upset you will not let it ruin your ceremony. Children are a great addition to the wedding ceremony and even if they cry, guests still seem to think it is cute.
Reply:I think that's a really cute idea.
And don't worry about possible kid behavior at the wedding. My niece was in a wedding once when she was very small, and at the front of the aisle she looked up at the beautiful stained glass ceiling and started spinning and laughing with her arms out and petals floating out of her basket. It was not on the program but was absolutely charming and beautiful and everyone got a chuckle about the spontaneous joy of the very young. Her dad finally had to go get her so the bride could come down the aisle.
Reply:I think thats a great idea. Wow that would be cute. and sitting in the pedals they toss, very creative I like it.
Reply:I think that is a great idea!!!! I think it will look so cute and everyone will think you were so creative! My only word of advice is to make sure the rose petals inside the wagon are not real. If they are real, the colors could run onto the girls dresses and they could have spots for the rest of the day. Otherwise, this is a great idea and I'm sure it will turn out to be wonderful!
Good luck!!
Reply:Every woman wants her Wedding to be perfect and even unique. But the wagon thing may or maybe go over very well. The wagon maybe to heavy for the little guy to pull, the girls may not want to ride in it, one or both may start to cry when they see others looking at them as they're riding down the alise.
So maybe u can have someone walk with the girls down the alise or have someone carry the one who may not be walking.
U can also talk with the girls just as they're about to take that walk and ask them if they're ready, tell them how cute they look and that everyone can't wait to see how cute they look. That might help them become more relax to walk down the alise and less afraid.
Good Luck
Best Wishes =-)
Reply:Petals. Not pedals.
If these kids are capable of doing this, then it is fine.
Reply:sounds very cute and different! I personally don't have any kids in the wedding- it was too much drama with kids and parents. Just make sure the ring bear is strong enough to pull them and make sure the church will let you use a wagon in there!
Also do a test run at the rehearshal so they don't freak out and cry during the wedding.
Reply:Stop for a second and actually breathe. OK...
This is your wedding and you can have it however you and your betrothed want it. If you like the idea and think it will work, then go with it. Bear in mind - this is a celebration, not a show that has to be pulled off without a hitch. Try to enjoy it.
Personally I think it's a sweet idea.

At least you have flower girls. When I get married there won't be any just because I don't have any children in my family around that age.
Reply:I think that is a great idea, very cute. I would also suggest that you have the kids mom or dad sitting close to the front to get the girls incase they get a little upset or want to get up.
Reply:That is WONDERFUL! and you won't have to wait 40 forevers for the girls to get down the aisle!
Reply:Sounds Unique.
Reply:I think thats sounds really nice and creative. as long as the little boy will be able to pull or push a wagon with 2 children in it. if he can then it sounds perfect. congradulations.
Reply:omg thats so cute and orginal! I LOVE IT!!
Reply:i think that is a great idea.
